1st Anniversary Reset
It has been 1 year since I launched Climate Kindness on Earth Day 2020, and wow the world has been on a wild ride since then.
I had wanted to start a blog for quite a while, and with the prospect of spending 99.9% of my time at home for the foreseeable future, I figured the timing was perfect to launch an eco-focused platform! My passion for the planet and climate change has been on the rise for years, and since I was doing research for myself, I wanted to share my findings to make it easier for others to make an impact. And I had plenty of ideas to get me started.
Then so much happened last year that had me glued to the news: the pandemic, countless stories of racism, protests, a tense presidential election, and more. I shifted my focus to listening, learning, sharing, talking, and volunteering. And I decided I couldn’t stay silent on matters I found so important, because as the quote from Desmond Tutu states, “If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor.”
This past year has made me reevaluate what I want to do with this platform, which is to advocate for people along with the planet. Because even if I show up imperfectly, it’s better than not showing up at all. And after all, the main reason I’m so concerned about climate change is because of people - the people that are already feeling the impact and the people that will be affected in the future. And if I can help share information on other issues that impact people now or in the future, then I absolutely want to do that.
So I’m back and with a renewed vision. I hope you’ll join me on this journey.
